Held the second Saturday in February, our annual Langston Hughes Celebration commemorates the legacy of Langston Hughes. The celebration features musical performances, biographical documentary films on Poet Hughes, dramatic presentations, and poetry readings.
Langston Hughes Library's most celebrated event is held on the second Saturday in December - The Annual Kwanzaa Celebration. It features up to 30 craft vendors, a food concession, libation ceremony, arts & crafts workshops, and numerous musical performances throughout the day.
This one-day festival celebrates writers and the power of our diverse Queens community. Come along for a day of engaging, informative panels on the craft of writing, the realities of the publishing industry, and engaging chats with accomplished authors.
Held the last Saturday in June, Jazz in the Garden takes place in the garden of the Louis Armstrong House in Corona, NY. Featuring exciting jazz performances, this event is eagerly anticipated and attended by community residents and staunch supporters.
Held the last Saturday in October at the Library, the Fall Jazz Brunch features a live performance by electrifying guest artists accompanied by a delectable lunch with champagne and a giveaway raffle.
